The Metéora is one of the largest and most important complexes of
Eastern Orthodox monasteries in Kalambaka, Greece and is second only
to Mount Athos. The monasteries are built on natural sandstone rock

Peneios river and Pindus Mountains, in central Greece. The Metéora
